The FORNACE DEL CONTE, or “Count’s Brickworks,” consists of a single-story outbuilding where bricks were molded and fired from the late 17th century through the 1960s, and a main house, built in the so-called Leopoldine style, which housed the count’s living quarters on the upper floor, stables and rooms for agricultural goods and equipment on the ground floor, and likely also a small room for bookkeeping and administration.
The two buildings—the former brickworks on the north side and the main house on the east side—together with a smaller vineyard on the west side and a larger one covering about 1 hectare on the south side, enclose the garden of the former count’s estate.
The discovery of a water reservoir at a depth of about 10 meters was likely a key reason for building the brickworks at this exact location. The historic draw well in the lower part of the garden bears witness to this and is still used today to water plants and herbs during the hot Tuscan summers.
The entire estate was extensively and lovingly restored between 2021 and 2023, preserving and restoring numerous historical details. A 12-meter-long pool was added, featuring a terrace from which the view stretches over vineyards and fields all the way to Montepulciano.
All apartments and rooms, as well as the 15-meter-long vaulted hall—once the stable, now the guest room with an open kitchen and two long communal tables, one of which can be converted into a pool table—welcome, entertain, and accommodate guests in an authentic Tuscan atmosphere: terracotta floors, high beamed ceilings, antique furniture, and a blend of old and modern art.

Apart from the chirping of birds, you’ll hear almost nothing here. Terraces, porches, and a spacious garden offer every guest a place to retreat.

We have only one nature. That’s why everything we serve comes from sustainable agriculture at the very least—and our wine from an organically farmed vineyard. We also strive for maximum sustainability in everything else we need to maintain and care for our agriturismo and ensure our guests have a thoroughly enjoyable stay. In this regard, for once, we are unwilling to compromise.
Family-friendly
Children of all ages are warmly welcome here. We provide cribs and car seats, as well as toys and activities for all age groups. We always have something special for our youngest guests at breakfast, too.
Apartments
We offer five apartments of various sizes, each with a bathroom and a fully equipped kitchen. The number of beds/sleeping arrangements ranges from 2 to 6 people. We have portable cribs available for infants.
Room
In addition to the apartments, we offer a double room on the first floor of the villa, featuring a bathroom with a toilet and a loft accessible via a staircase, which contains an additional sofa bed. This room can accommodate 2–3 adults, or 2 adults and, depending on their age, up to 2 children.
